What Sendlog knows about you, and where it goes

Version 4 · last updated October 5, 2026. Written from what the app actually does, in plain words.

The short version

Sendlog is a training log run by [OPERATOR NAME — not set yet]. It keeps what you put into it so it can show it back to you. No ads, no third-party analytics, nothing sold or shared for marketing. The only time your training data leaves our server for another company to read is the AI coach — and only after you've said yes to it. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app. Questions: sendlog@alpinekit.app.

What we keep

  • Your account: email address (and, if someone invited you by email, that address on the invite), name if you give one, a scrambled (hashed) password, time zone, what you train, reminder times and display preferences. For each device you're signed in on: its IP address and browser name, so you can be signed out everywhere.
  • Your training: plans, sessions, exercises, loads, RPE, reflections and notes; weekly goals; climbs, projects, the crags and gyms you name; benchmarks; and what you tell the AI coach's interview if you use it (goal, grades, age band, body weight and injuries if you give them).
  • Check-ins, which are about your body: sleep hours, readiness, pain by body part, pain notes, body weight if you log it. Only you see them. The AI coach's week review reads a summary — if, and only if, you've turned the coach on.
  • Photos and videos you attach to climbs and projects, stored on our server and shown only to you. A screenshot you attach to feedback is seen by the people who run Sendlog. A screenshot you import from a board app is read once and not kept; only the list of problems you save is.
  • Notifications: if you turn them on, your browser's or phone's push address and keys, so reminders can reach that device.
  • Dictations: the text your phone's dictation produced, until you log it or discard it. The audio never reaches us.
  • Feedback, ideas and votes you post, and reports you make about other people's content.
  • Error reports: when something breaks, the error, the page it happened on and your account's id, so it can be fixed.
  • Usage events: which pages and features get used (page, time, your account) — kept on our own server for 90 days and then deleted. No third-party analytics, no advertising identifiers.
  • One cookie that keeps you signed in. No tracking cookies.

We don't collect your location, contacts, or anything from your device beyond the above.

What other people can see

  • Groups: members of a group you join see your name (your email address if you haven't set a name), whether you did the day's session, and the loads you used — unless you switch Hide my loads on. If the group's leader turns on the read-only shared link, anyone with that link sees the same sheet. Leave the group and it stops.
  • Ideas board and published plan templates: what you post there is visible to everyone with an account, with your name (or the part of your email before the @).
  • Everything else — sessions, check-ins, climbs, photos, progress — is visible only to you. The people who run Sendlog can reach the database, to keep it working and to answer you.

The AI coach — optional, and off until you say yes

The coach is a language model run by Anthropic. Sendlog sends it nothing until you've read what is sent and turned it on, and you can turn it off again in Settings; sending stops at once. What goes, by feature:

  • The interview → a plan. Your interview answers: goal, route or event, grades, years training, age band, body weight and strength numbers if you gave them, training days and equipment, pain ratings by body part, injuries, anything you've been told to avoid, typical sleep, likes and dislikes, and whatever you type in the free-text boxes. Also the names and prescriptions of the exercises in your library.
  • Ask the coach, Regenerate a week, applying a review suggestion. What you asked for, in your words. The plan's weeks (phase, dates, session titles), the sessions in the weeks being rebuilt with whether each is done, planned or skipped and their exercise names, and the interview answers again. For a plan that didn't come from an interview: its name, goal and notes instead.
  • Week reviews — Sunday evening's automatic one and Review my week. That week's log: sessions planned, done, skipped and missed with their titles, RPE per session, your reflections and “work on” notes, logged loads and RPE for up to 20 exercises. From your check-ins: how many you did, average sleep, the highest pain score, each flagged pain day (weekday, body part, score and your pain note) and the number of low-readiness days. From the interview: goal, route name, target grade, weaknesses and pain ratings. And next week's planned sessions.
  • Too hard? That exercise — name, category, sets, reps, times, RPE target and its notes — and the session's type and title. Loaded exercises are answered by a plain rule (drop about 10%) and send nothing.
  • Describe a routine, Import from text, Bring a spreadsheet, Record a session. The text you paste, type or dictate (the first 12,000 characters) and whether you train climbing or strength.
  • Reading a route link (climb library, interview). The link. Anthropic's servers fetch that page and summarise it; nothing about you goes with it.
  • Import from a board app. The screenshots you choose, shrunk and with their photo metadata removed. Whatever is visible in them goes with them, which can include your username in that app and other people's names. Nothing else is sent, and Sendlog does not keep the screenshot.

Never sent: your name, email address and password; the photos and videos you attach to climbs, projects and feedback; your climbing log, projects, benchmarks and locations; check-ins outside the week being reviewed, and check-in notes other than a flagged day's pain note; anything belonging to other people in your groups — a leader's coach only ever sees the leader's own plan and log; device, location or usage data.

How Anthropic handles what it receives, and how long it keeps it, is set by its privacy policy and commercial terms. On our side we keep a record of each call (when, which model, what it cost) and the model's reply; turning the coach off erases the stored replies from that record, and deleting your account strips the record of anything that points to you. The plans, weekly reviews and coach notes already made stay — they're your training record, not the model's — and what's written in them can repeat what the coach was told: your reflections, your pain notes, what you asked for.

Companies that handle data for us

  • Anthropic. Runs the AI coach's model. Gets training data only if you have turned the coach on, and only what the consent screen lists.
  • Resend. Delivers Sendlog's email: invitations, password resets, the confirmation that an account was deleted, and notices to the people who run Sendlog. It sees the address and the message.
  • Cloudflare (R2 storage). Holds the nightly off-site copy of the database backup. Photos and videos are not in backups.
  • Stripe. Takes payment on the website if you buy a plan or a top-up. It gets your email address and your card or bank details; Sendlog never sees the card number, only that a payment went through and when your subscription renews or ends.
  • Hetzner. Rents us the server Sendlog runs on. The database, photos and videos live on its disk.
  • Apple, Google and Mozilla push services. Carry reminders to your device if you turn notifications on. Which one depends on your browser or phone; it gets your device's push address and the notification. Browser notifications are encrypted so the service can't read them; notifications to the iOS app go through Apple's push service.

That's the whole list. If it changes, this page changes first.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and what you log: until you delete it or delete your account.
  • Usage events: 90 days.
  • Database backups: 14 days on the server and 90 days off-site, then deleted. Something you delete today is still inside those backups until they age out. Photos and videos are never in backups.
  • After you delete your account, a few records stay with nothing pointing to you: usage events until they age out, grouped error reports, and what each AI call cost — the amount and date, not who asked or what was said.

Your choices

  • See and correct: everything you've logged is in the app, and editable there.
  • Delete: Settings → Delete account removes your account and everything in it, for good, after showing you exactly what goes. No email needed, no waiting period.
  • Get a copy: there's no export button yet. Write to sendlog@alpinekit.app from your account's address and we'll send you your data in a readable file.
  • The AI coach: off unless you turn it on; off again whenever you like.
  • Notifications and reminders: off unless you turn them on, per device.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you more rights over your data than this list. Write to us and we'll do what it requires.

Children

Sendlog isn't made for children and accounts are by invitation. If you're under 16, please don't use it. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes, and how to reach us

When this page changes in a way that matters, the version and date at the top change and we announce it in the app. If the AI coach starts sending something new, it stops and asks you again first. Contact: sendlog@alpinekit.app.
